  During the school holidays, I decided to make a trip down to the game arcade- the perfect place for teenagers to visit with friends to relax, as it was located in the shopping mall, Jurong Point, situated near my house.

  When I entered the game arcade, the blasting modern pop songs filled the whole place and the music was so loud to the extent that people had to scream for others to hear them ,adding on to the noise level. As it was a school holiday, the game arcade was packed with teenagers, who had friends as company. There were many game machines suited for people from all walks of life to enjoy- ranging from the prize catcher, the shooting game, fishing game to the dancing platform. The vibrant colours and images made all of them look equally attractive to the patrons.

  The fishing game caught my eye immediately as it was a unique and addictive game that I had never seen in other game arcades. Many adults and teenagers were seated around the machine, where they controlled handles and prodded the smooth shiny buttons to 'catch' the virtual fish. This seemingly interesting game aroused some people's curiosity and made them gather around to observe as well. I also overheard that a middle-aged man had been playing that game non-stop for hours already!

  Next, I proceeded to the basketball game located at a very strategic position which was at the centre of the game arcade. Before I arrived, there was a queue already forming for quite some time and people with excited faces waited patiently for their turn to play. It was no doubt that this was the most popular game. There was a group of energetic youths aiming the basketballs into the hoops at the machine effortlessly. They worked together to try the reach the goal to proceed on to the next level. Although it seemed like an easy task to throw the basketballs, it was actually quite physically exhausting. Sweat trickled down their foreheads and their glowing red cheeks profusely. At the end of the game, from their satisfied smiles and high-fives to each other, you would know that they truly enjoyed the game and they were more well-bonded too.

  Finally, I strolled towards the prize catcher. Beside it was the photograph booth where memories with friends were captured in every shot. Over at the prize catcher , a young man was attempting to get an adorable teddy bear for his girlfriend. After multiple tries, he finally succeeded, his eyes lighting up like diamonds. His girlfriend squealed with delight too.

  As it was going to be dinner time soon, I walked past the redemption counter stocked with sweets and toys and left the  game arcade. I had a fun time observing and experiencing the thrills and enjoyment of others playing the various game machines. I think that I would be returning to relax and have fun with my friends or family members another time!
